Every month Iron Springs Elementary holds an IRON Assembly where we focus on learning how to show Integrity, Respect, Ownership and acting promptly. This year the focus is on respect and the different areas in our life where respect is needed. This month the focus was on respect in the classroom. Students learned that being aware of the environment around them, evaluating how their own actions affect others, being on time and listening all play an important role in showing respect.
As students show these various behaviors they earn punches on an IRON card and the cards are entered into a monthly drawing. As part of the IRON Assembly students' names can be drawn to win a prize for their classroom, lunch with the principal and an IRON shirt.
