We want to keep our observance simple while still recognizing the meaning and significance of this important day.
On Friday, we will recognize Patriot Day in the following ways:
Wear patriotic colors: We invite everyone to wear
red, white, and blue
to show our school spirit and support.
Patriotic song: Following the Pledge of Allegiance, we will play a patriotic song over the speakers, and students are welcome to sing along.
First responders: We will have first responders at our front doors greeting students as they arrive at school. This is an opportunity to recognize the heroes who stepped up during 9/11, as well as the first responders who serve and protect our communities every day.
If you have an opportunity, please talk with your students on Thursday about what they can expect on Friday. You can let them know that first responders will be here to help us recognize Patriot Day and honor the heroes who made a difference on 9/11 and those who continue to serve our communities every day.
